I started being interested in the use of computers and technology in general in education in the later part of 1976. I have been actively involved since.
About 20 years ago, I began to help my fellow teachers to use different technologies in their classrooms also. Nearly twelve years ago, I became active in a group of teachers through an NEA/US West grant in forming a non-profit organization called The Learning Space which was dedicated to helping teachers to use technology in the classroom.
As the group evolved, I became the person who helped teachers with technology issues both physically and virtually. As an on-line organization we practiced what we taught and did most of our business on line. There are always needs for meeting in person which the leaders did about once a month and the larger group, first 70, then 500 finally 5000+, once a year in the summer time just in time for school to start.
As my teaching career started winding down, I realized a greater and greater need for an anywhere, anytime place to document what my colleagues and I did on a daily basis to help students learn academically and behaviorally and to be able to produce those documents on a moments notice for student learning plans, etc.
Thus, I wrote a secure, database driven, web based tool which I call Educators' Task Tamer. See my brochure or contact me via my email address ( bob at edutt dot us ).
I do provide 30 day demonstration license accounts for you to try.
